This piece was inspired by the cheerful colors and atmosphere of our beloved brunch hot spot: The Briarpatch in Winter Park, FL. I remember going there as a little kid in the 80’s to get my Dad iced tea. I was just there the other day to pickup a giant loaf of sweet zucchini bread. It’s the yummiest! The place is always packed, line goes far down the block with eager-to-eat visitors! A front porch for outside dinning. Inside, the floors are creaky, old wood planks. There’s an old giant wood front door that easily swings open. You can’t pass up the massive layered cakes, one slice can feed a family. The buzz is loud inside, with busy waiters left and right. They have huge lemon yellow paintings on the walls (amazing!). And most famous for their bright yellow umbrellas outside. It’s a small place, but big on energy and love, like this painting!
